Minion control UI allows to change AI behavior or stance of minions/pets/mercenaries to:
1.Target either attacked units(player target) or attacking forces(targeting player).
2,Move either to backward or forward position automatically(often called Patrol mode) or follow the player.
3.Use specific skills selected by player.
4.Use specific equipment or item granted by player.
5.Retreat or move into selected area by specific command.
6.Perform Unsummoning/dismissal of minions
A common mistake in game design is granting minions ability to open doors or autonomously explore areas on their own(thankfully usually limited by distance to player), often engaging masses of enemies the minion can't handle on its own. Such behavior is due lack of UI settings or menu command specifying that minion should stay behind the player and not attempt exploration.
